From chaotic, reactive walks to calm, social freedom

When Colleena and Chris got Kevin, they had a clear picture of what life would look like, a dog they could take anywhere and enjoy. But from the moment they stepped outside, things felt far more difficult than expected.
“Taking him outside was… a bit of a nightmare.”
The challenge
Kevin’s behaviour quickly made everyday life stressful. He pulled constantly on the lead, barked as soon as he left the house, and wanted to rush up to every dog he saw. Whilst friendly, he was over-excited and unpredictable, which made walks feel chaotic rather than enjoyable.
Instead of feeling in control, his owners were constantly managing situations, correcting him, or trying to avoid problems altogether.
“We had no control over him… it was stressful.”
The breaking point
Over time, this began to impact Chris and Colleena's lifestyle. They stopped doing the things they had originally looked forward to, no walks with friends, no relaxed trips out, and no easy day-to-day life with their dog. It became clear that something needed to change.
“We weren’t present when we were with Kevin… we were just stressing.”

The turning point
What started as a search for a dog walker quickly became something more.
His owners realised Kevin didn’t just need exercise, he needed structure, clarity, and consistent guidance to help him navigate the world more calmly.
“We got far more than we expected. It’s exactly the life we wanted with our dog.”

The transformation
With the right approach in place, everything began to shift. Kevin became calmer and more responsive. His lead walking improved, his reactions reduced, and he could finally be trusted off-lead.
